We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to assist the team as Projects Assistant in the delivery of the Workshop Programme and productions. We require someone with good people skills and an empathy with homeless and socially excluded people.

This 12 month post is aimed at a recent graduate who is seeking a career in the Arts and who wishes to develop their professional skills and gain work experience. No previous experience is necessary.

This placement is offered as part of the DCMS Jerwood Creative Bursaries Scheme, and is aimed at someone whose financial circumstances mean they can not afford further training or an unpaid internship.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Support the team in the smooth running of the Workshop Programme and related activities such as: Performances and theatre trips, Marketing, Recruitment of participants, Work placements, Weekly Workshops, Evaluation and monitoring.
• Assist the company in the administration of our current production Fables and its 2011 tour.
• In addition to the above responsibilities, there will be the opportunity to develop the role and take on other activities that are of particular interest. The role will also include assistance with offsite activities and some travel outside of London and occasional overnight stays may be required.

Eligibility:

• First degree or equivalent in one of the following arts forms: Dance, Combined Arts, Literature, Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, and Arts Management.This qualification must be of a 2:1 or above and completed within the last two years (i.e. year of graduation 2009 or 2010)
• Graduates who were in receipt of a full maintenance grant, special support grant or Hardship fund whilst at university.
• Applicants must complete the on-line evaluation questionnaire for the DCMS to be considered for interview.
