I saw the première of My Secret Heart in London last December and was so completely blown away by it… I left the Royal Festival Hall covered in goosebumps and yet feeling warm and with a clarity of thought not experienced in my lifetime. I can’t wait for this years’ main production!

Later this season we are co-producing a production of Brecht’s ‘The Caucasian Chalk Circle. We need 60 local singers to be in a choir for the show, so I wondered whether you would be so kind as to see if anyone might be interested. The information can be found on the Nottingham Playhouse website.

Thank you.
Best wishes,

Hi there – we’re asking all the performers to put in their ticket requests and we’ll see how many tickets we’re looking at! We’re already a bit over our allocation but we’re trying to sort it. I’ll let you know what happens asap.

Ellie, was there a reason why I wasn’t given a sheet on coming events -like ‘The Skylight Cafe’ event, next week’s venue for the ‘Skylight’ group’s rehearsal…? Am I being excluded from events (-like a Skylight Christmas dinner) deliberately…?! Just a tiny concern…

Hi David, the sheets about upcoming events/workshops were left on the table at the side of the room on Friday for people to take. You weren’t being excluded at all, perhaps you didn’t realize they were there to collect. The Skylight Christmas dinner on the 14th isn’t something Streetwise is organizing so I’m not sure about that one. All the best, Ellie

can u please tell me about work placements?

matt
January 16, 2012

Hi David, we run work placements in local arts and cultural organisations like theatres and museums. Placements are really flexible and can last from one day to once or twice a week for a number of weeks or months. If you let us know which workshop group you’ll be going to we can arrange for Fiona to talk to you in more detail if you’re interested in a placement. That way we can find out exactly what would interest you most.

My writing skills are those of a fledgeling (I have been writing for only 7ish years). If you ask for and read but cannot use my screenplay can you tell me where it fails and why so that I can do better next time. It is meant to be a social documentary showing a homeless man can still be honourable, lead a wasted life if he dies young and from winter’s cold.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your message and sorry for the delay in replying. Your screenplay sounds really interesting. However, I’m afraid we already have a script for our next production which will premiere next year and tour through 2013 and 2014 so we won’t be looking to develop a new idea for a show for a couple of years. We should also say that currently our productions are not issue-based or directly about homelessness. If you haven’t already, you could get in touch with Open Cinema (who make films with people who have experienced homelessness – http://www.opencinema.net) or Cardboard Citizens (www.cardboardcitizens.org.uk/). Best of luck with your writing.
