Are you a highly motivated, organised person with a passion both for the arts, and for making a difference in the lives of people who are homeless? Streetwise Opera is looking for an experienced, self-driven and dedicated Regional Co-ordinator to drive forward our growing programme in Nottingham, working two days a week.

Streetwise Opera is an award-winning national charity that uses music to help people make positive changes in their lives. Working with people who are or have been homeless, we run workshop programmes in five cities across England, stage critically-acclaimed operas and produce With One Voice, an international arts and homelessness movement.

Streetwise Opera’s work improves wellbeing and increases social inclusion. Our productions platform the skills of our performers in a professional arena, showing that whatever life throws at them, they can achieve great things. Underpinning these, our workshop programme offers a dependable source of creative activity in lives where everything else can be changing.

Streetwise Opera’s latest major production, Tell Me The Truth About Love, was performed at Sage Gateshead in April 2018 (‘a powerful and inspiring show’ ★★★★ The Guardian).

The Nottingham Co-ordinator role is pivotal to Streetwise Opera’s activity in the region, and involves a wide range of tasks including overseeing workshop logistics, organising theatre trips and performances, developing local partnerships, recruiting participants, evaluating projects and supporting participant progression.

The successful candidate will have at least three years’ project management experience, excellent people skills, understanding of the issues faced by people who are or have been homeless, and a genuine passion for participatory arts.

Reporting to: Head of Programme
Salary: £22,000 (pro rata, 0.4 FTE)
Location: Nottingham, working from your own base
Hours: 16 hours (two days) per week including one hour lunch break each day; occasional evening work and overnight travel in the UK will also be required
Term: 12 months fixed-term
