New people can join any time, preferably in the first few weeks of each term.

Workshops are run by Streetwise Opera in artistic partnership with the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall.

Meet the performer

'I'm Maria and I’ve been coming to Streetwise Opera since January 2007. My favourite piece of music is Miserere by Allegri - it’s cute, short and I like singing in Latin!

'Streetwise is exciting, fun and educational. I come to the workshops because it gets me out of the house for a few hours. I get to act and to practise how to perform to a live audience. I really like the live shows - I feed off the audience.

'If you’re thinking of coming along I’d say don’t think about it, just get here. Have fun and let it all hang out.'
