Katie’s work at Streetwise Opera is all about trying to understand the impact our work has on our performers and wider artistic collaborators whilst also helping the organisation to reflect on & improve its practice based on regular feedback gathered from our performers and staff team.

For the past few years Katie has worked on a number of different music & social impact projects and is currently working with The Irene Taylor Trust, an organisation working with music in and around the criminal justice system and is also involved in a research project with Musicians Without Borders in partnership with SOAS, exploring questions around how music contributes to cultures of peace in their projects in El Salvador, Palestine and Rwanda.

In her spare time, Katie plays Gamelan Degung (traditional music from West Java, Indonesia) with London based group Sekar Enggal and likes to go on long walks in the countryside.
